The theory is that it doesn't but taking a probiotic is a good idea either way - Kefir is really powerful when made at home

actually a probiotic caps have billions of good bacteria but cultured kefir made at home have trillions and the same with cultured fermented veggies , were not talking about heated and using vinegar but the old fashioned way using culturing packets or live grains. So eating 4 tablespoons of this kind of veggies and drinking 8 oz of this type of kefir gives trillions and trillions of the some 50 strains of good bacteria. which when growing in your body can produce up to 80 % of your immunity system which is the greatest healing power in the human body. Greatest place to learn how to do this I know is Cultured food life.com They teach thousands and thousands of people how to ferment veggies and culture all kinds of milks into kefir. One or two capsules a day of probiotics are good but the amount you can get in eating and drinking is like the difference between a handful of sand on the beach and the entire beach. And much cheaper too, a little time but well worth it. Your immunity system can heal almost anything and its the good bacteria doing all the healing work.
